I needed a mount to replace the proprietary mount for my GPS, so I could mount my dinc2, and it works. Haven’t tried the vent clips, but the window mount sticks well and hasn’t fallen off. I am ordering a 2nd one for my other car. It is cheap and works well connected to the vent. I also got her a GPS program for her iPhone too. I ended up using the suction cup on the windshield.
In addition, once mounted, however temporarily, neither provides a sufficiently stable platform for an iPod or an iPhone (I tried with both). This item is made of very cheap plastic and broke within the first 6 weeks. The suction cup for the windshield is nice and heavy duty and doesn’t let go in the hot sun the way my Garmin will. The vent clip fits on both my old S70 Volvo and my wife’s Audi but isn’t quite as tight gripped onto the fins of the vent as I would like.
Works like a charm. It doesn’t affect vision of wind shield. My only drawback has nothing to do with the mount, but I wear gloves when I ride and my touch screen can’t be changed with the gloves on. I originally was going to purchase this from another seller off of Amazon until I came across it on here.
