oh yes the trusty old 5d, why some people wants to sell their 5d when the 5d m2 came out? in my opinion i wouldnt coz for me old 5d still on the top of its game even if i buy the 5d m2 i wont sell it.

I think what Tom meant was that it wasn’t his kind of range for his photos.

17-40 fits in all Canon DSLR cameras. It’s the EF-S lenses which won’t work on it.

TomB773 is fucking idiot…. 17-40 does work on all fucking canons camera that fucking uses EF mount you fucker!

Honestly dude, this is kinda gay. Every Canon SLR is packed exactily the same form the factory. Cheeped out and went for the body only huh?

Why are you taking so long? I’d be ripping that shit open like it was christmas morning!

  6. fb1807016 on January 12th, 2009 4:52 pm

I dont believe Im reading this…
The Canon 17-40 F4 L works with everything form the 20d right upi to the 1DS MKIII.
Anyone that tells you different does not know what he or she is talking about,,,I don”t care weather they shoot for the POPE on the mOOn..!!!!
I have this lens and it works fine on my 5D..
I suggest that TomB773 goes to the canon site and does his homework…!

What? No Lenses? In this clip. Delete.

  10. hugeknot on January 12th, 2009 4:52 pm

The 17-40 is almost made for the 5D!

  11. DavidTheDivine on January 12th, 2009 4:52 pm

all L lenses are EF, so yes, the 17-40 (assuming its L here, not sure) is compatible with the 5D

Check out on google if you are right or not before talking… “pro” ahah

Take it from me, I’ve travelled the world with my 5D and the 24-70mm and 28-300mm L IS. I’ve photographed surfers in hawaii(Maui and Pipeline), Fuji and california, I’ve photographed weddings in the Indian ocean, southern Africa and in Sydney. So please listen ‘the 5D is NOT compatible with the 17-40mm’.

  14. mxky on January 12th, 2009 4:52 pm

    Of course it does, it’s not an EF-S lens. Then I’m gonna buy the 5D with the 17-40 f4 L & 70-200 f4 L :)

  15. TomB773 on January 12th, 2009 4:52 pm

Just to let you know the 17-40mm will not work on the full frame 5d body. Try the 24-105 or the 24-70.
