Nah, come on…. Of course i read the manual and i’m not new to cameras. Canon asked me to return it for repairs. I guess i got a faulty one. Hope the fix the problem. I’m a very loyal canon customer. Shit happens

You probably havent read through the manual have you. I have the 10IS and I don’t think I could take a blurry shot if I tried

I do plan on shooting stills – I’m considering getting into photography as a hobby; this is in addition to using the youtube videos. I’ve already decided on a camera but I plan to keep that secret – Christmas day will be the big moment. Wait & see.

rml, If you’re buying the camera just to shoot videos, I’d suggest getting the Kodak Zi6. It’s a camcorder, meaning it’s built to film, and it’s almost half the price of the SX110 IS.

Heh, and it’d be better than a camera phone.

    Thanks.

Yes, the lens do retract when you turn the camera off.

Does the lens retract when you turn the camera off?

  21. adorianvlad on January 5th, 2009 4:53 pm

just an update; yes, it works for videos as well. I reckon up to 40X I’ve only used it up to 27X or so as of yet.

  22. daddylionn on January 5th, 2009 4:53 pm

now thatz what i call a good review!

  23. adorianvlad on January 5th, 2009 4:53 pm

I may got it now; it seems like I can zoom optically but only photos’ not movies.
Which would be fine, provided I shoot nature video clips and when have a nice view I can take some close-up photos and add them to the video clip in WMM. Its funny, until I’ve asked in here, I couldn’t figure it out on my own, but I did it afterwards.

  24. adorianvlad on January 5th, 2009 4:53 pm

hello, I got one such camera, but I don’t as of yet how to use the digital zoom while making videos; I can only use zoom up to 4X.
    Can you help pls?
    TIA

Anyone know how the video & audio quality are on this? I’d be using this for my YouTube videos and I’m currently relying on my camera phone. LOL
